The smartphone revolution continues. American trade articles say the iPhone 5 models are a huge success. They also claim some success for Nokia and the WinPhone, but my figures show it's doing better in Australia and the UK than in the USA. Windows 8 continues to be unpopular, after just over a year on sale. Now Microsoft has the gall to announce the final end of support for Windows XP. There is still a problem with excessive Pre-XP visits, mainly from the UK and the USA. They look like real visits. Desktops/Laptops 58% and Mobiles/Tablets 42% (up from 39%). A major trend has passed them by. The sample size above was 11722 visits by humans. Search Engines Share ==================== Percentage breakup of visits coming via search engines for December 1st to 15th, 2013:- Google 84.9 (85.4, 86.3, 87.2, 89.1, 88.1, 89.6) Bing 9.1 (8.6, 7.7, 7.3, 6.0, 6.5, 5.5, 5.5, 5.7) Yahoo 4.1 (4.1, 4.1, 3.6, 3.1, 3.4, 3.2, 3.4, 3.5) All others 1.8 (1.8, 1.9, 1.9, 1.8, 2.0, 1.7, 1.5) Amazingly, Bing continues to gain, and at the expense of Google. Yahoo and all the rest are steady. The total number of searches in this sample was 15143, including 9936 of 12863 searches (77%) via Google where the search string is encrypted, allegedly for privacy reasons.
