Latest Stats as at 27/1/2011. ============================= These figures cover the 15-day period 1/1/2011 to 15/1/2011. ============================= =============================== Introduction ============ I'm running a bit late due to holidays. Internet Explorer is now clearly under 50% market share, a situation not seen since the old days of Netscape 2 and Netscape 3. The mobile share of the market now measures over 10% although the Bondi Beach Home Page tends to attract laptops and mobile phones, so the figures below may be a fraction high. But the upward trend is there for all to see. Previously I wrote "surfing the net with smart phones will more than double this year" and predicted 15% by the end of 2011. It's increasing so fast right now that 15% by the end of June is more likely. Operating System Market Share ============================== For the period 1st to 15th January 2011, these percentage figures are based on visits, with earlier figures in brackets:- XP 38.2 (38.2, 41.7, 42.5, 43.1, 43.6, 44.7, 45.0, 45.0, 45.1, 46.2) Windows-7 22.0 (22.6, 21.5, 21.2, 19.8, 19.7, 19.5, 18.2, 18.1) Vista 15.5 (15.9, 15.9, 16.6, 16.6, 17.0, 17.1, 17.1, 18.0, 18.3) Other Windows 2.3 (2.0, 2.4, 2.6, 2.7, 2.4, 2.5, 2.4, 2.3, 2.5, 2.4) Mac 10.6 (10.4, 10.6, 10.1, 10.7, 10.6, 10.0, 10.9, 10.4, 10.2, 11.2) iPhone etc 6.3 (6.4, 4.2, 3.7, 4.1, 3.3, 3.0, 3.4, 3.1, 2.8, 2.9, 2.5) Other Mobiles 4.2 (3.7, 2.7, 2.4, 2.2, 2.4, 2.2, 2.1, 2.0, 2.1, 2.2) Linux 0.8 (0.9, 1.0, 0.8, 0.9, 0.8, 0.9, 1.1, 1.1, 1.0, 1.0, 1.5, 1.0) There seems to be a drop in Windows-7, but not when compared with earlier figures without the Christmas peak.
