Evadne Price (1888-1985) was born
Eva Grace Price in Merewether, Newcastle.
She was a famous and prolific writer
of romantic novels.
In a career that spanned at least 1925 to 1965,
she wrote around 700 80-page romantic novels
and several full-size novels.
In her retirement she lived in Sydney.
She adopted the name Evadne at a young age and wrote mainly under this name but also under various other names including Helen Zenner Smith and Anne Drew. In the 1960s she was vice-president of the England-based Romantic Novelists Association, and she succeeded Barbara Cartland to this position. See Wikipedia and Google for more information.
